Bulk select 8 Pillars #2

Week 2 of 52 – 2025 Wellness Adventure

8 Pillars for Optimal Health & a Strong Terrain

  1. Eat life-giving, nutrient-dense food; avoid life-sucking food. Supplement at times.
  2. Get plenty of exercise, movement, & activity. Exercise your body and your brain.
  3. Get adequate amounts of quality sleep, and find a little time for R & R daily.  Also, take a day of rest weekly; it is not only Biblical, but it is even one of the 10 Commandments!
  4. Practice stress reduction, and when it is unavoidable, stress management.
  5. Tend to your spiritual health with Bible reading, prayer, church, and such things.
  6. Avoid toxins as much as possible: in your food, in your water, on your skin, in the air, household cleaning products, etc.
  7. Get plenty of sunshine, outdoor time, fresh air, and grounding.
  8. Nurture joy, thankfulness, gratitude, and purpose.

The octagon of wellness! These 8 Pillars have been my MO for years.  Even with inconsistencies and lack of perfection, they pay off.

As you look forward to this new year, I encourage you to spend some time considering these 8 Pillars and things you can start implementing to improve your health, so that next year at this time you can say you are healthier than you were a year ago. Start somewhere.

Start~Build~Continue is a good credo to adopt.

On another note…

The Wonder of Words
One thing that amuses me is when I come across a word that I am pretty sure that I have never used myself either verbally or in writing.  Beleaguered is one I recently came upon. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary it means “suffering or being subjected to constant or repeated trouble or harassment” and Oxford Languages says it means to be “in a very difficult situation”.

My challenge to you is to use this word today. It shouldn’t be hard with all that is going on. And if you feel like it, drop me a reply with your usage. I am sure it will amuse me.

Here is mine: The beleaguered husband, after a hard day of work, was further dismayed when he arrived home only to find it devoid of any signs of hot, nutritious food cooking.

It is healthy to exercise your mind in such ways!
